Night at the Roxbury, A

I just don’t get Saturday Night Live. The skits are often totally lame and even the funny ones run a good five minutes longer than they should. Yet as an institution it has produced so many great comedians and funny spin-off movies. It perplexes me.

The Roxbury skits, also featuring Jim Carrey, are ones that are mildly amusing but seem to drag. Yet when this non-plot is stretched out to a feature length film it’s pretty damn funny stuff, a film so goofy that it’s gold. It perplexes me.
