Hitch

Hitch

I can’t review this properly. You know what you get with romantic comedies and this serves up exactly what you would expect. Affable leads, battle-of-the-sexes jokes, obvious comic reliefs, and a storyline you know the ending to going in. Will Smith is charismatic enough, Eva Whatever is spunky enough, the fat white guy mildly amusing enough to make this an all-round likeable enough affair, but like the majority of these films, there’s nothing memorable about any of it. Part of the reason why I can’t review it in any great depth is because mere hours after watching it I’m struggling to recall the story or any funny bits. The other reason, of course, is why would you bother? It’s like a food critic reviewing the same cheeseburger meal deal from Maccas every few weeks. It’s always gonna be more or less the same shit. I will say that on the romcom barometer Hitch is better than crap like Kate & Leopold, or anything starring Kate Hudson. Big claim, I know. Man, I feel like a cheeseburger.
