Bringing Up Baby

Bringing Up Baby

Cary Grant plays a button–down paleontologist set to marry his cold and controlling personal assistant. Katherine Hepburn plays a spoilt rich girl with a tame leopard named Baby. Hepburn meets Grant, decides she loves him and tricks him into spending the day with her. Zany, mad–capped adventures ensue.

Bringing Up Baby is considered by some to be the ultimate screwball comedy. I would say it was total chore. And I don't care about it's place in film history or the context of the period in which it was made; the thing stunk.

The first scene is of Carey Grant sitting next to the skeleton of a Brontosauras tryign to figure out where to put his bone. I laughed harder at this than any other part of this film. It came In at number 97 on the list of top 100 films but I think I could think of a thousand films that more deserve that honour. Police Academy, for instance.
